The Topstitch needle is the most common needle type used and is recommended by professionals and educators for all domestic machine types. Superior Threads recommends the Topstitch for piecing, quilting, embroidery, appliquŽ, and sewing construction. These needles are available to accommodate all thread types, including metallic threads. The Topstitch needle has a larger eye and deeper groove. Because these needles have an ultra thin coat of titanium nitride, they will stay sharper longer and outlast any current needle on the market. The size 70/10 needle is for very fine threads such as 60 weight cotton or polyester, monofilament, #100 and silk threads.
